Observation details
There were at least 27 of these birds along approximately 3/4 mile stretch of beach. There seemed to be more birds spaced out in the distance as I walked south along the beach and I believe if I walked further down the beach I would have counted more. They were even spaced along the beach, and most were standing just above the wave line, and would dash down toward the water as the waves receded and seemed to be feeding on large sand-crab like crustaceans. There were a few Herring Gulls, Ring-billed Gulls and Great Black-backed Gulls present too, but the majority of the gulls present were Lesser Black-backed Gulls. See photos, I have many more.
