Media notes

The YBCU was high in a tree above the path. There is heavy background noise from traffic and other birds. This is the best recording I could manage with the equipment I had. Listen carefully for the "coo" song, which is a low repeating sound: 2 "coo's" at the start of the recording, then a set of 10 in the middle and a set of 10 at the end.

Observation details

Two cuckoos calling for several minutes, about 1/4-mile apart, along the northern half of the paved trail. They seemed to be right above the path about sixty feet up, but the recordings could not "pull in" the sound; too much background noise from traffic and other birds
