Observation details
Seen along the stream between the diversion dam and rocky draw. I stood for a while, watching a pair of CEDW sally for insects, before I even heard it, a very explosive, emphatic, sharp "chip", somewhat DOWO-like. Eventually the waterthrush came out and foraged in sight in an alder along the stream, then went to the dead downed tree (alder?) where the CEDW had been foraging. Strong dark vertical streaks underneath on whitish ground color; long sharp warbler bill; white undertail; strong whitish-buffy supercilium.
