Observation details
My Morecombes Guide shows Rufous Field wren within range although rare. These birds in the field looked quite different to any of the Striated we had seen in that the looked a lot browner in color. The crap photo due to washed out light which doesn't show anywhere near the true color. The photographed bird had a bolder brow stripe than the others we saw and more solid rump at the base of the tail. (less streaked than the others) I did post it on Bird Forum at the time because the dark centres to the tertials suggested Striated but the other features suggested Rufous. Consensus on that forum was Rufous although the photo doesn't show it.
