Media notes
Editing with Audacity: Normalized to -3; High Pass filter 150. Since the birds were so close (5 ft), the gain was reduced a little at 36 seconds. Both sections were adjusted to be the same volume. Variety of song and calls.
Observation details
There may have been one or two more chickadees, but uncertain. The group arrived quite quickly to chatter in the birch saplings only 5 ft away and 5 ft off the ground, so they were often at my eye level. They chattered for a little over a minute, then slowly moved off a short way to the east only to return again in about half a minute. Chattered for another half minute, before moving a short way off to the east again. Once again they returned a little over half a minute later with one perching on a cattail about 12 ft away chattering towards the microphone. The others were rather quiet at this time and all left towards the west. Wonder whether they were curious about my homemade windscreen, "Dead Cat". Fortunately there was no interference from a plane or road traffic which ruined another audio clip.
