Observation details

while riding a mountainbike, a goshawk swooped down from a high perch and made a mad dash at my head, sqwaking loudly all the way. it made several aggressive passes until I cleared the area. I thought it was a coopers hawk, but photographs reveal it to be a goshawk--see photos
