Observation details
Conservative estimate. Wouldn’t be surprised if there were at least 7-10 hanging around our camp that morning. Got a video of 5 confirmed Yellow-billed Hornbills at once chilling nearby while we ate breakfast. I don’t even know where to start with these birds. They’re absolutely gorgeous and easily one of my top favorite birds of all time I’ve seen. I am so grateful to have spent so much time with them. Very first bird I got identified on my trip, and the safari guides called them, “Zasu”birds (in reference to the lion king!). Adorable little creatures. They weren’t afraid of us whatsoever. Loved the sounds they make. See photos! :)
