Observation details

I stopped to photo the hawk. As I was leaving an overwhelming quantity of grackles streamed over my head for several minutes. The grackles flew across the field and into trees (pictured). Then a second band of more grackles did the same thing. From there, smaller flocks left tree tops to land in other nearby treetops. The sound and site of that many birds was exhilarating. …Over the next hour, I saw them again several times as they moved through the neighborhood.
