Observation details

Searched through a flock of NOCA but no luck. Later saw a medium sized bird flush on trail then into a bush a foot off the ground. Dull gray female with yellow parrot-like beak. After a minute I noticed a second bird about 3 feet above the first one. This one had a larger crest and more red on crest, under tail and around the eyes but still not as red as the ones I’ve seen in South Texas. We stared at each other for about 15 minutes at close range before they flew away. Birds were silent and did not seem to be associating with NOCA today.
