A distantly singing individual responded to playback by eventually coming in to where we could see it; it was wired by then. This recording pieces together successive cuts of its song (after playback) once it came into view--singing from ca. 30m up on a branch of a very tall tree across a clearing. Loud traffic passing caused me to filter the low frequencies. Recorded with a Zoom-F3, using a Wildtronics MicroMic XLR Microphone in a Wildtronics Pro Mini Parabola.
Observation details
100m, seen after lengthy playback; only heard after playback, so none singing spontaneously; we gather from Khaleb that on other visits he has had them be vocal and fairly common; the bird seen was in a heavily disturbed area;
