Observation details
In a big flock with at least a thousand other blackbirds in a field on the east side of Staten Island Road where the public road ends and you have to turn around. If their yellow heads and white wing patches had not glistened so brightly in the sunlight and caught my attention I would have driven past them and assumed it was just another flock of red-winged and Brewer's blackbirds.
