Recording of a CORA as it was perched in a pine woodlot. A second silent CORA flew (22-26 seconds) overhead to that location after these call notes were recorded.
Observation details
Call notes of one CORA were heard from the east woodlot. Initially three series of 4 call notes each were heard from the pine woodlot. Then after about 4 minutes, it call again and was recorded. A second CORA flew directly overhead and down the road as it called the second time. The very low frequency sounds of the wingbeats could be easily be heard in the field and at 22-26 seconds on the recording. The second CORA seemed to be in flight towards the location of the first CORA. On the recording at about 14 seconds, gastrointestinal sounds of a very hungry recordist could be heard.
