Observation details
Both adult female: First scoped off the south seawall at 500 yards. Large, very dark sea ducks with large sloped foreheads and black bills, pale patches both in front of AND behind the eye, white hip slash only visible when they rolled and dark bellies, so female. The white wing panels were visible in flight when a boater spooked them and one went south around the condo point and out of sight, the other flew up to just north of the main channel. I watched the second bird for a while in hopes of getting meaningful photos, but it never got any closer in than about 450 yards or so. Fuzzy mega-cropped 1/4 mile photos TBA ASAP.
