Observation details
Incredible December date. Six SEPLS flew in to E end Walnut Beach mudflats at around 3:40 pm and were observed calling ("chu-weep" and "cheep") while walking flats and pulling up marine worms. Cell phone footage and recordings. Observed in good light for at least some portion of a 20+ minute observation period. Observed 20-30 feet away. Small, Sanderling-size. Brown cap. White supercillium. Brown auricular "patch" extending thinly to nape. White lores. Dark, peg ill. Dark breast collar which was thinner, more diffuse at center of breast. White belly/flanks/vent. Brown back/wings/tail.
