Observation details

Large bird flew in and perched. Had the classic barred owl silhouette - lumpy and round. Based on size, it could only be a barred or great horned, but the silhouette eliminated great horned. About 30 seconds later it flew off and again had a big rounded head that screamed barred owl. As we were walking back out to the big field, we saw a barred owl perched in a tree. It was a couple hundred yards from where we saw the first one so we thought it could possibly be a second bird, but were not sure. This bird called for about 30 seconds And then we saw a second bird fly in!
