Observation details

A bird found the day before and the reason for the visit. Favoring live oaks near the main entrance. A male bird with mostly golden-yellow head aside from greenish cap and auriculars. Greenish mantle, and dark wings with bright wingbars. Mostly complete black throat (the mottling suggests second-year bird), light undersides with coarse black streaking to flanks and some yellow wash, especially near vent. White outer tail feathers. Giving unmusical chip notes that sounds nearly exactly the same as other warblers in the vivens complex (Black-throated Gray/Hermit/Townsend’s).
