Photos taken after sunset - bird appeared motionless for 15 minutes.
Observation details
Just after sunset, as I was walking back down the boardwalk I saw movement of larger bird hitting the grasses near the marsh, flap wings, then look motionless with wings spread. It just sat there with wings spread and head tucked (not visible) for approximately 5 minutes. It slowly lifted its head and I confirmed it was an AMBI.After watching for 13 minutes, it finally stood briefly, then lowered itself back down. Watched it for 25 minutes. It never moved from that spot. Left after it was too dark to see it anymore. Photos all taken after sunset - heavily cropped and lightened.
