Media notes

The owl's call (very faint) can be seen in the sonogram, close to the bottom, at the sec 0:01 marker. - Louder version of the recording.

Observation details

Duetting around 1 PM. The sound seemed to come from the Sudbury State Forest across the road. I was only able to obtain a faint recording of one of the owls, and I upload a softer and a louder version of this recording. Not sure which one is clearer, as the background increased in the more boosted version. The owl's call can be seen in the sonogram, close to the bottom, at the sec 0:01 marker.

Additional species

  • Dark-eyed Junco Junco hyemalis
