Observation details
The hybrid with the white T-shaped cheek patch has returned to our neighborhood pond. He was last seen here on 12/2/25. This hybrid has spent time on this pond every winter since 2022. The hybrid was on the north side of the pond and I was on the south side of the pond and the light was fading, so this shot is merely to help confirm his presence. The hybrid is in the middle. The first duck is a Common Goldeneye. The three behind the hybrid appear to all be Buffleheads. Notice the fat, white cheek patch on the hybrid.
