Observation details
Continuing for a 3rd day. Large, big headed Larus-type. Even tucked in, it's noticeably bigger than the American Herring Gulls surrounding it. Overall warm medium gray-brown plumage, more even and finely spotted, not as mottled and vermiculated on scaps and mantle as the nearby juvenile Gulls. Huge black bill. Primaries are the same color as the body, and finely edged with white. Light pink legs. Chest and belly warm gray brown, barred towards vent/undertail coverts. Short primary extension. Lighter on nape, darker around the eyes, which appear dark. Has a slight frosty look. Distant ID Photos taken.
