Observation details
Initially believed that this individual was an apparent hybrid RMPA x WEPA. After further research by Kenny Miller and discussion and input on iNat, it's been determined that this psittacara is actually an adult Crimson-fronted Parakeet. Key field marks include the red restricted to the forehead with light flecking around the face and neck, red in the bend of the underwing and yellow underwing entirely through the primaries, which is not observed in this pattern on the other 3 psittacara species that have been frequenting the location (WEPA, RMPA, MIPA). Essentially, this bird looks like a Mitred with more limited red on the forehead and extensive red and yellow in the underwings. Although not established nor countable anywhere within the ABA, small numbers do exist in Miami-Dade and Broward. This represents the first PBCo record.
