Observation details
*rare vagrant! Someone write us a folk song cause this is a fever dream: three-legged dog and a Yellow-throated Warbler! First heard the distinctive chip call repeatedly from the neighbors yard, then it flew onto the suet feeder, then a tree behind the feeder, then away. Yellow throat brighter than the sun, black around eye and cheek. White belly with black streaking and gray back. Adult male, due to no buffy coloration on the flanks. Very slight yellow coloration on supercilium seen in some photos allows for ID to S. d. albilora. Believed 18th state record. Thanks to Mary for finding and reporting this bird and letting us come see it as well! State bird for Gavin and lifer for Nick! Photos and audio.
