Observation details
While it looks like the African scops, finding a Scops on the plains on the road in a place where people don’t get many African scops is downright strange. We had a whole conversation the night before on the absence of scops at Lewa house. Plus it was hawking insects more on the ground. This is unlike being on trees in what all my experience with African scops has been. So am inclined to think that this is Eurasian. That said comparing with my other images of African scops, this is a different owl.
