Media notes

I amplified the sound and removed as much background noise as possible using Raven.

Observation details

I first saw the bird at approximately the same coordinates as given by Jasmine Kay - 33.684583, -118.024185. It kept flying down slope a few yards at a time until a Cooper’s Hawk flew through, and it speedily went to the area across the road from the northwest end of Fisher’s Gulch where it landed in the tallest bare-limbed tree. It came back to the same general area, as the coordinates above. I continued over to Fisher’s Gulch to check for other birds. I later saw it with another group of birders - same area. Dark brown above; pale from throat to under tail coverts; pale brownish “vest”. Vocalizing.
