Observation details

Thought maybe first cycle California or 2nd winter Herring. Leaning much more towards an American Herring Gull after looking at some resources last night, because much larger than RBGU, with blockier head, bigger bill with stronger gonydeal angle, and shorter wing projection than would expect for California. Dark eye, pink bill with black tip, and dark bases to greater coverts all look great for California, but I think the structure rules that out. Not sure what age this bird is. Maybe dark eyed second cycle? Or pink billed first cycle. Shrug.
