Observation details

While walking a heavily forested, scrubby trail to Willow Lakes, I noticed some movement to my right and stopped. I immediately saw a raptor that I didn't recognize at first. The bird flew across the trail to the opposite side and perched. I took a series of photos. After looking at them more closely, I realized that the bird was a Roadside Hawk. The record was accepted by the Texas Records Committee in 2005.
