Observation details
Lead bird in a group was slightly darker-breasted, smaller-billed, and somewhat smaller and shorter-necked, but not as much as I've seen in definite Cacklers. I thought the birds landed just on the other side of the pier. When I went over there, I could not pick out any obvious contenders for this individual. All the calls I heard from this flock were consistent with Canada.
