Observation details

Photos; first bird we saw, teed up in tree at end of warf, from which it eventually flew allowing several different viewing in flight. While congnizant that perhaps everything seems darker in contrast to snow cover, this bird's extenive brown always appreared extremely dark and heavily marked for a Red-tailed, giving initial impression coloration-wise of a Rough-legged Hawk. Red feathers on uppertail indicate adult. More comments pending photo review.
