Observation details
Patch bird #202! (Apparently someone reported 2 Bonaparte's Gulls Dec 11th!) I saw a flock of black birds that perched in a tree along the northernmost part of the loop trail, towards the northern fields. Almost dismissed them as Red-winged Blackbirds but as I got closer with my binoculars I could see completely black birds with no red markings in wings, no grackle shaped bill or tail (or size) and in one individual I could see the pale iris. I could not see any major brown tones in the plumage so I am discarding Rusty Blackbirds. Managed to get really bad photos as the flock quickly flew away before j could approach them
