Observation details

From my Indiana bird sightings notebook: " A 9 yo saw this bird at their feeder outside New Castle IN the previous Sunday. I was in Boston. On Friday 5-3-1996 I took Eugene Muench with me to their house and waited 45 minutes before seeing the bird. Alan Bruner arrived to see it at the same time the bird appeared. It was a beautiful adult male with an obvious bright yellow wingbar and a light yellow wingbar and the head had reddish visible but was not yet fully red. The bird was feeding mainly on oranges but had also had sunflower seed.
