Observation details

Not a shy bird. When checking call on playback- it responded, calling and came within 3 meters. Able to approach it several times at a similar distance as it foraged in the shorter grass. Seemed smaller and shorter-billed and shorter-tailed than Richard's pipit seen nearby. Very little streaking on the back of the neck. Buffy flanks and whiter belly. Clear cheek patch with a darkish border for most of it and an apparent loral stripe. Buffy border to median coverts. Very windy and unable to get decent call recordings. Feedback welcomed.
