Koi (or nishikigoi) are colored varieties of carp (Cyprinus sp.) that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens. Someone has evidently dumped their no-longer-wanted Koi in this lake. Thanks to this heron, now there's one less!
