Observation details

Continuing feeder bird at the Fulton Compound. Came in around 9:50am for less than 30 seconds but perched in the open for everyone to see. Quickly flew to the ground and did not appear again until 12:20pm where it stayed for nearly 10 mins. First year male with light orange feathers to the face, black throat patch, black eyeline. Orange faded to a mostly grayish-white underbelly and flanks. Nape and upper back a darker gray/olivaceous tone. Silvery gray and black wings with conspicuous wing bars, not quite the big patch of the mature males for this species. Rump, tail, and vent a light orange to yellow wash, conspicuous.
