Observation details

A few seconds after spotting the formation of Starlings a Sparrowhawk glided over the hedge on my left with a Starling caught in its talons. The Starling's wings and legs were extended, it looked alive and I guess had literally just been caught hence the take off of the group. The picture is a cropped screen grab from my car dashcam. Something about the speed of the Sparrowhawk crossing the view and the high contrast however seems to have resulted in the dashcam capturing a silhouette but that is a sparrowhawk carrying off a Starling. The tops of the hedges are captured by the camera in a similar way.
