Observation details

At least two adults (calling flyby pair) and two juveniles, if not three adults and two juveniles. One youngster came in and flushed the shorebirds and green herons, nearly snatching one of the herons, before perching on the old train bridge structure where he stayed for over twenty minutes, occasionally vocalizing. The other juvenile flew so close to us that we could hear its feathers rustling. There were a lot of folks on the river this day, and right as this happened, I heard someone on a floating tube or on nighthawk bar yell “aquila!”
