Observation details
Thought it was just some birds foraging along the path until I got binoculars on them. Seen on the North stretch of the cemetery path before it heads East. Little chicken looking things like I've never seen before. Really struggled to identify this one. Spent about 30 minutes in the RC airfield doing research. Ruled out the Ruffed Grouse and the Greater Prairie-Chicken because it had vertical streaks along the side of its belly as opposed to horizontal. A few of them had white around the neck area (male), the one I really got a good look at had a mustard colored stripe above its eye (female). Originally thought there were five or six, until I got closer and they flushed from the brush. Close to 20 flew away into the tall prairie Grass north of the RC airfield. Will post binoc pics. Very shy and wouldn't let me get super close so not great pictures. Moderator, feel free to email with other suggestions if you do not think I labeled it properly.
