Observation details

Continuing in area. About 10am began hearing at least one right beside the gate at the south end of Marty Sanchez service road next to Wildlife Way (road to dump & Game & Fish HQ). Chased two bird along fence line east 100 meters to a dense clump of bushes, two popped up for viewing and one remained long enough to photograph. The birds spent much time foraging on the ground intermittently seen briefly. Then flew west and after one stop landed in Russian Olive, bounced around lower portion of olive before resuming ground foraging roughly here: 35.6681560, -106.0718128. This pair seemed to be foraging alone except for perhaps once a FISP flew from the same dense stand of bushes. Details: averaged sized sparrow (nothing to compare with), overall gray and rufous, bi-colored bill, gray headed with rusty lateral crown stripes, rusty eye-line hooking a bit behind auriculars, pale grayish below with chest spot and rusty tinge to sides and flanks.
