Observation details

Drab sparrow, but closer inspection reveals very distinguished spotted pattern on mantle consisting of rusty brown body feathers surrounded by a pale grey margin, topped with a subterminal ginkgo shaped smudge of black. Plain face with darker auriculars and pale gray belly. . Fine streaking on head crown. Whitish margin to tertials and wind coverts. Pale corner to spread tail. Allowed very close approach and often walked closer to me as I remained motionless.
