Observation details

Continuing bird. Assumed same individual I found here on 11/23. Seen off and on at this location since then. Compact basic plumaged loon with dark above, white below, limited white to face, slim bill, and distinct unbroken clean dark/white border to the neckline. Puffy cobra-like round head with contrasting silvery-pale warm-gray nape/crown noted. Bill was held horizontally. Not big-billed and blockheaded look of Common. Body appeared darker than head/nape at times. Observed resting and preening on the lake to the far east of the east side boat ramp. One Common Loon seen beyond it in the distance. Decent looks in full sunlight with 20-60x80 spotting scope. Photo'd.
