Only Dave has access and says you can contact him at 660-254-3723 if it sticks and you’d like to view this bird** Amazing male found by Dave Easterla yesterday. Loosely associating with mallards and the hoards of Canada Geese. Legs seen well and no leg bands or other domestication signs seen, but of course this is an introduced exotic/non countable bird in the US as of now. Bird looked healthy and feisty. It fed on midges yesterday and mainly floated around and slept on the ice when we saw it today. I did see an eBird report of a group of 8 mandarin ducks in Iowa 11/20. That location is 2hr & 20min NE of this location, so you have to wonder if it’s one from that group. I was still thrilled to see this stunning bird and thank Dave for the call.
