Observation details

Walking along the paved path into the playground parking area, I heard a Thick-billed Kingbird up on the wooded slope, here. 34.133548, -118.285504 This is relatively close to a small private composting operation and I suspect the flies, attracted to the compost, might provide a convenient snacking opportunity for the kingbird and others. It vocalized repeatedly on several occasions, remaining on the wooded hillside. I never got a visual, but recorded the call for confirmation. It is my hypothesis that this is the second Thick-billed Kingbird which arrived in our area, tailless, in early November.
