Observation details
Observed an American woodcock foraging on soft, unfrozen ground beneath pine trees twice in a 24-hour span. Once between 1:30 and 2 a.m. on Dec. 9, and again around 10:55 p.m. on Dec. 10. It largely stayed in a large patch of damp pine needles beneath pine trees in a residential area, occasionally venturing out into the surrounding snow.
