Observation details
We first noted a gull being buffeted by the wind at the Suttle Lake Lodge. We soon lost site of it as a heavy mist and rain obscurred pur sight. We rediscovered the bird at the boat ramp on the SW end of the lake where I was able to get some photos. We noted a large Gull with pale mantle, and no black in the wingtips. The tips of the primaries showed gray, not black. This is only the second time this species has been reported from JeffersonCounty. A prior sighting of two birds in 1993 was the only accepted record. I sent photos to the Central Oregon Rare Bird Alert with photos.
