Observation details
White Tag 672 photographed. David Melville reported this to Mike Bell. Mike calls this bird "a cracker". "It was banded as a chick on 12/12/2009 on the Upper Wairau River, Sandy it is E-223208. At the time, it did not have a darvic. I read the metal band at Lake Rotiti in Dec 2020, and recaught it at the Matatkitaki River colony in 13/11/2023 when I added the Darvic. This is the only breeding record, so I suspect it breeds up here often. I visit the Wairau colony every year, but not so often other colonies. This makes it the oldest of my banded birds, 2009 was the first banding of black-bills I did."
