Observation details

Kind of interesting that these were even here, as someone had recently mowed the who basin of all the grass and emergent vegetation around the pond, as there was only open water, mudflats and showed cropped (like one or two inch high) grass type growth. So there was absolutely zero cover for the snipe to hide in. Oddly enough, however, I initially only saw six birds present, but at some point three additional WISNs appeared without being seen coming in. Six stayed together in a group while the remainder were sacattered along the aouth and west banks of the pond.
