Observation details

In tree by pond with 2 DCCOs & a Great Egret. Lighter brown small head with a dark cap. Short hooked black beak. Grey wing tips. Lighter undersides light brown neck & head. Long black tail with white UTCs. Definitely not a Kestrel (no B&W stripes on face). A little bigger than a Kestrel. No call or flight. Watched for about 49-mins thru 10x42 binocs in good light. Lynn Garner showed up & we combined efforts on an ID. We reached the conclusion that it may be a juvenile Ferruginous. But not confident enough to report. iPhone Pictures.
