Observation details

This bird was perched briefly low in the cactus underbrush before moving into the next bush and flying up and away. This area was comprised of caves and overhangs created by lava and large cactus with lower cactus underbrush. Insects were plentiful. Visually saw this bird- no yellow underside like the brown-crested, though this bird was present as well. It also had a white stipe on chest. Merlin sound app recorded this bird in multiple separate recordings, one of the recordings was taken while the bird was in visual range.
