Observation details

Mixed flock of Tricolored, Brewer's, Red-wings, Cowbirds, and Starlings feeding with a smll group of cattle. I only observed about 5 male Tricolored Blackbirds and only 2 male Red-wings. In contrast, most of the Brewer's present were predominantly males. The Tricolored males were identified by the blood red in the epaulets. The white part of the wing was too worn to be diagnostic. Female/juve Tricolored birds were identified by their darker color when compared to the orangy pattern of the numerous female/Juve Red-wings. The birds were cnstantly swirling so numbers are just estimates.
