Observation details
Individual with dark blue leg band/ring coded 911-R was banded in Ireland as part of the Lough Ree project in 2021 as a chick. This was its first re-sighting. From the researchers: “The ringing project is based in the midlands of Ireland, focusing on a lake-island colony of over 1,000 pairs of Lesser Black-backed Gulls – the largest inland colony in Ireland. The lake is Lough Ree – which translates as ‘Lake of the Kings’ in Irish. We have colour-ringed over a thousand pulli since 2018 as part of this project, which is a collaboration between local ringers and National Parks and Wildlife Service staff. We don't tend to get many reports from north Africa that late in the year, so this is a great one to get!“
