Note (1) red tail (indicates it is an adult), (2) dark blobby belly band (that in a borealis subspecies would only occur with a juvenile), (3) how the dark feathers from neck area stream down reddish onto breast and (4) wing length – note how wing tip reaches near to tip of the tail. Wings are not nearly this long in borealis.
